Troubleshooting Guide: Cannot connect to server

Issue

Users may encounter connection issues when trying to connect to the LutraCAD server, preventing normal operation of the software.

Cause

The server connection issue can be attributed to several factors:

  1. Network Connectivity

    • No active internet connection
    • Unstable network connection
  2. Server Status

    • Server is not running
    • Server maintenance in progress
  3. Access Restrictions

    • Firewall blocking the connection
    • Network security policies preventing access
  4. Authentication

    • Expired or invalid token
    • Corrupted credentials

Solution

Follow these steps in order to resolve the connection issue:

1. Verify Network Connection

Test your internet connection by accessing a reliable website like google.com

2. Check Server Status

Contact your system administrator if you're unsure about making server-related changes

3. Review Firewall Settings

Ensure any firewall modifications comply with your organization's security policies

4. Reset Token Authentication

If the token is no longer valid, follow these steps:

  1. Disable the Server Mode:

    1. Navigate to "C:\LutraCAD\V3\Admin.exe"
    2. Enter "5" and press Enter
  2. Generate New Token:

    1. Access the server management interface
    2. See the guide in Server Setup
    3. Generate a new token
  3. Reconnect Application:

    1. Launch LutraCAD
    2. Go to Account > Settings
    3. Enable Remote server connection
    4. Enter the new token
