Helmets
A helmet is created from a Brace (Helmet) document. Open that document and the brace workflow starts at the Base step.
Production method decides the workflow
The first choice you make sets the whole path. In the Base step, pick a Production method:
- Milling: Brace produces a milled helmet. The workflow is Base to Correct to Export.
- 3D Printing: Brace produces a 3D-printed helmet. The full workflow is Base to Correct to Design to Printing to Export.
info
The opening and wall thicknesses that shape a wearable helmet live in the Design and Printing steps, which only appear for the 3D Printing: Brace method. Choose your production method before you start correcting.
Workflow
- Base: load the 3D scan, choose the production method and set the base shape.
- Correct: shape the helmet to the patient.
- Design (printed helmets only): add the opening, perforations and reinforcement.
- Printing (printed helmets only): set the wall thicknesses and edges.
- Export: send the helmet to production.
