AFO Braces

An ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) is created from a Brace (AFO) document. Open that document and the brace workflow starts at the Base step.

Production method decides the workflow

The first choice you make sets the whole path. In the Base step, pick a Production method:

  • Milling: Brace produces a milled brace. The workflow is Base to Correct to Export.
  • 3D Printing: Brace produces a 3D-printed brace. The full workflow is Base to Correct to Design to Printing to Export.
info

Choose your production method before you start correcting. It controls which steps appear and which settings are available further along.

Workflow

  1. Base: load the 3D scan, choose the production method and set the base shape.
  2. Correct: shape the brace to the patient.
  3. Design (printed braces only): add the trim line, perforations and reinforcement.
  4. Printing (printed braces only): set the wall thickness and edges.
  5. Export: send the brace to production.
