LutraCAD TrueScan
TrueScan collects everything for one patient order on an iPhone or iPad and sends it to LutraCAD in one go: 3D scans of the left and right foot, photos, documents scanned with the camera, and your organisation's prescription form. Everything is kept under a reference you choose, and nothing leaves the device until you tap Upload.
Two ways to scan
| FaceID Camera | Structure Sensor | |
|---|---|---|
| Hardware | The TrueDepth camera in the device | A Structure Sensor mounted on an iPad |
| Devices | iPhone X or newer, iPad Pro | iPad only |
| Scan mode question | No, scanning starts immediately | Yes: Foot scan or Foot- and foambox scan |
The Structure Sensor runs on a wide range of iPads, while the FaceID workflow needs an iPhone X or newer or an iPad Pro.
Structure keeps the list of supported iPads, and which bracket each one needs, in their own article: Structure Sensor 3: Which iPads can I use?.
Working offline
Start the app once within reach of a network, then go where the connection is poor. The app rechecks your login every time it starts, and that check needs a connection: start it offline and it treats you as logged out, which blocks 3D scanning and hides the upload buttons. Once the check has succeeded, scanning, photos, documents, the form and saving all keep working if the connection drops. Only the login check, downloading the form and uploading need internet.
