Structure Sensor (iPad)
Our app is designed to work with the Structure Sensor, a powerful external 3D scanner that connects to an iPad. Unlike the FaceID scanner, which is limited to foot plantar scans, our app is capable of scanning entire body parts. This makes it ideal for creating custom insoles, shoe lasts, and braces.
Our app is compatible with Structure Sensor Mark I, Mark II, and Structure Sensor 3.
Features
- Full body part scanning
- High-precision 3D modeling
Getting Started
To begin using our Structure Sensor scanning app, follow these steps:
-
Ensure you have a compatible iPad and Structure Sensor (Mark I, Mark II, or Structure Sensor 3).
-
Download the app from the App Store:
-
Connect your Structure Sensor to your iPad.
-
Launch the app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device.
Calibration and Firmware Update
Before using the Structure Sensor for the first time or after significant changes in your scanning environment, we strongly recommend calibrating your sensor and ensuring its firmware is up to date.
-
Download the Structure Sensor Calibrator app:
-
Open the app and follow the instructions to calibrate your sensor.
-
The app will also check for and install any available firmware updates.
Proper calibration ensures the highest accuracy in your 3D scans. It's recommended to recalibrate periodically or when moving to a new scanning environment.
Scanning Process
- Open the app.
- Create new order and fill in the requested details.
- Click on the left foot icon or the right foot icon to start scanning.
- Follow the on-screen guide to position the Structure Sensor correctly.
- Maintain a steady hand and move slowly around the body part to capture all angles.
- Review the 3D model and rescan if necessary.
Excessive movement during scanning can result in distorted 3D models. Try to keep both the scanner and the subject as still as possible.
