How do I create and use a macro?
A macro is a reusable, saved sequence of design actions (corrections, text, logo, and so on) replayed automatically on new designs. It is ideal for standard steps you repeat on every insole. See Macros.
Create and name it:
- Settings → Library → Other → Macros.
- Click Add, enter a name, and confirm.
- Click Edit on the new macro to open the macro editor.
Add actions:
- From the action palette on the right, click the corrections you want. Each is added as a collapsible step.
- Expand a step to set its parameters (height, thickness, region, side). Use Delete on a step to remove it.
Set placeholders:
- For an engraved Text action, use the placeholder dropdown: leave it on Automatically replace information, or pick a placeholder (client name or date). When the macro runs, the token is replaced with the real value.
- For an Add logo action, pick the logo from the Enabled dropdown (choose None for no logo).
Run automatically:
- Tick Run on new design so the macro plays automatically when a new design of the matching type is started.
- Click Save.
Apply it:
- Start or open a design of the matching type. If Run on new design is on, the macro runs automatically; otherwise select and run it from within the CAD designer.
Troubleshooting
Why can't I log in?
First check that everything you entered is correct. If it still fails, check your computer's date and time: if these are wrong, you cannot log in.
The license screen can also show one of these messages:
| Message | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Account not activated | Confirm your e-mail via the web portal. |
| No licenses available | All licenses are in use elsewhere. |
| License expired | Log in again to activate another license. |
| Account paused | Contact your supplier. |
| Invalid version | The license does not cover this version. |
For the full license screen and its messages, see Signing In & Licenses.
I did not receive the password reset e-mail
- Check your spam or junk folder.
- On Gmail, check the Promotions or Updates tabs.
- Add noreply@lutracad.com to your contacts or safe-senders list.
- Click Resend E-mail on the password reset page.
Reset links expire after 24 hours. If a link no longer works, request a new one.
The software will not start: "Database service not running"
This happens when the local database is corrupted and cannot start, for example after a failed reinstall or a system crash.
- Press
Win + R, typeservices.msc, press Enter, and look for LutraDB. If it is running, the database is fine; if not, continue. - Open Command Prompt as Administrator (
Win + X, then the Admin option), typesc delete LutraDB, and press Enter. - Start LutraCAD. It creates a new database automatically.
This deletes all existing data in the database. If there are patient records or other critical data, contact support before proceeding.
I cannot connect to the server
Connection problems usually come from the network, the server, a firewall, or an expired token.
- Retry the connection. On the Connecting with server... screen, click Retry connect to server first. A temporary hiccup often clears on a retry.
- Verify your network. Open a reliable website to test your internet.
- Check the server status. Contact your system administrator before changing any server settings.
- Review firewall settings, in line with your organization's security policies.
- Reset token authentication if the token is no longer valid: open the LutraCAD Admin tool, enter
5(Remove remote connection), generate a new token (see Server hosting), then in Account → Settings enable Remote server connection and enter the new token.
If it persists, contact technical support with the error messages, the steps you already tried, and your system configuration.
